The First Lady – The Day After
by admin on Jul.13, 2010, under Social News
Just read a short article about the First Lady’s visit. Consensus seems to be that the best outcome of her visit was the visibility it put on the area here and the fact our beaches are in fine shape and open for business. Hopefully that will bring some of the visitors back for our local merchants.
Another thing I noticed was that the article said something about her “all-day visit”. Really? She got here just after 2:30pm and left a few short hours later. That constitutes an “all-day visit”?? I guess that really showcases how bad our school system actually is around here. Geesh!
The First Lady

I wonder if the First Lady will be stopping at the little trailer today at our new airport when she visits our little community? “How NOT to impress our country’s leaders.”
The Old Airport Won’t Be Closing – Update
by admin on Jul.09, 2010, under Social News
It looks like there are no more fuel services at the old airport now. Precision has long since closed and has a couple of lawsuits against the airport commission for various reasons. Sheltair has apparently closed their doors as well and is the only FBO who has moved to the new airport. They are operating out of a little trailer and are offering fuel at, for now, the same price as the old airport. “Welcome to the new Beaches airport! Step right up to our trailer for all of your pilot and passenger needs!” What a welcome to our community. This whole debacle has been a big slap in the face to the general aviation community, those based locally and everyone who visits us.
It Was A Nice Super Bowl Party

If you weren’t here, and you know who you are, you missed a great Super Bowl Party. Or was that Supper Bowl party?? Hey; it doesn’t matter who is there, you’re supposed to come for the food! These events brings out some of the best culinary skills our neighborhood has to offer! And the company really isn’t that bad either (usually)!
As for the game – I knew everyone would come to my way of thinking. At first I was the only one rooting for the Saints. By the end of the game, most everyone there was rooting for them! I wonder why? It must have been my exceptional skills at persuasion!!
No post full of such colorful descriptions would be complete without some incriminating photos. So without further adieu, here they are. Click on the photo below to see the entire gallery of photos!
Ready For Super Bowl Weekend?
by admin on Feb.07, 2010, under Social News
Late notice – come join us at the club house for a super bowl party starting in 45 minutes at 5pm. BYOB and BEFTS (bring enough food to share) for everyone to nibble on while they’re swapping lies…er, stories, and watching the game. Probably more of the former than the latter! Should have some pictures later…
